Definitely deserves the award this year. It looked like Jamal Crawford was going to run away with it earlier in the season, but Smith made a huge push post All-Star Break, averaging 21.3ppg compared to Crawford's 15.7. Smith is often cast as a headcase by NBA fans and analysts, but this year he has proven to be an integral part of the Knicks' success. His continued stellar play off the bench will be crucial in the postseason, if the Knicks hope to reach the Eastern Conference Finals and potentially knock off the heavily-favored Miami Heat.
